Welcome to the DFSee CDROM distribution.

This CDROM contains:

- A bootable image with FreeDOS and DFSDOS for recovery purposes
without the need to install anything on the harddisk.

- The full DOS, OS2 and Windows versions of DFSee in seperate
directories for installation on a harddisk.

- The standard distribution file 'dfsee_install.zip',
with DOS, OS2, Windows and Linux versions

- A self-extracting WARPIN installer DFSEE15X_WARPIN.EXE for OS/2,
ArcaOS and eCS with all OS2 related stuff as well as a bootable
diskette creator and creation of a nice desktop DFSee folder.

- A standard Microsoft Install Install archive DFSEE15X.MSI for Windows.
Just open the folder with this MSI archive using the Windows explorer
and click on the Archive icon, this will start the installer for DFSee.
This includes the diskette-creator and will add the relevant DFSee
executables, documentation and some scripts to your startup-menu.
(Note: NOT supported on Windows-9x and NT, XP or later required)

- A file DFSEE15X_DSK.ZIP with a self-extracting BOOTDISK.EXE that
will create a bootable 1.44 Mb diskette with FreeDOS and DFSDOS.EXE

- A file CDLABELS.ZIP with CDROM label images in JPG and PNG format

- The documentation in the form of ASCII text files

- A copy of most of the DFSee website in HTML with information about
DFSee some HOWTO and guidance and background information on
  pc-partitioning and filesystems

More up-to-date information might be available at:

Since this CDROM is most likely a CD-recordable, it is more sensitive
to damage (scratches) than regular pressed CDs.

It is advised to create at least one backup copy of the CDROM and
store that in a safe place.

Registred 15.x users can always get the latest 15.x version
on a 12-cm CDROM for about 10 Euros plus shipping at Mensys.

Of course you can also install DFSee on a harddisk or even on a
diskette, in a manual way, without using one of the installers.
To do that you can simply copy the correct directory for your
operating system you will use (DOS/WIN/OS2/LINUX) to any
directory or folder on your harddisk or onto a diskette.

This WILL contain your registration (dfsee.key) as well.

Note:
In many cases it might be better to get the LATEST release from:

        http://www.dfsee.com/dfsee/dfsee15x.zip

And unzip that in the directory of choice, after that, COPY the
file 'dfsee.key' from the CDROM (x:\win\dfsee.key) to that same
directory so the DFSee executable can find it.

You can get an ISO image for the bootable DFSee CDROM from:

        http://www.dfsee.com/dfsee/dfsee15x_iso.zip

And a bootable-diskette builder with the latest DFSee from:

        http://www.dfsee.com/dfsee/dfsee15x_dsk.zip
